As their relationship comes to a bitter end, Sophie leaves Matt a parting gift, a small device called ALUS. Designed to behave like a mother, ALUS helps Matt with all of his daily needs. When Matt sees just how intelligent the little device actually is, he decides to use it to fulfill his biggest need: getting Sophie back.
